Imaging Specialist

Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) is one of the largest public health systems in the country and?the largest provider of healthcare in Hawaii.? HHSC is a ?Safety Net? provider for both Acute Care and Long-Term Care (LTC) in the state of Hawaii. The HHSC Kauai Region operates two Critical Access Hospitals (CAH), including LTC at both sites, and five primary care and specialty clinics.

The Imaging Specialist position is located in the Radiology Department of Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Kapaa, Kauai, a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawaii operating 12 facilities statewide.

The Imaging Specialist?independently performs a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures, utilizing ionizing equipment in accordance with physician?s orders, protocols and quality standards as established by the department and facility, and performs other duties as assigned. The position may work on rotating shifts, extended workdays with work on weekends and holidays. May require standby call and call back duty.

To qualify for the Imaging Specialist position, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are credited based on a 40-hour workweek.

Education Requirements:? Bachelor?s degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional imaging technologist experience which demonstrated a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques such as myelograms, discograms, arthrograms, etc., including the X-raying of such areas of the human anatomy as the chest, skull, gastro-intestinal tract, urinary tract, and vascular system.

License Required: A current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a radiographer at the time of appointment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
